FEATURED PAINTING PROJECTS
Showcasing a variety of exterior painting projects — from weather-worn siding brought back to life, to new builds finished with care. Each one reflects the Spearhead focus on durability, detail, and West Coast aesthetics.

01
WHISTLER CAY, WHISTLER
Full exterior repaint of a home on Eagle Drive in Whistler Cay. This project included extensive prep and refinishing across multiple surfaces, from cedar doors to a metal chimney. Iron Mountain siding was paired with Whale Gray trim, fascia, and railings for a clean, modern alpine look. Cedar doors were restored with Sikkens for a warm, lasting finish.
PAINT USED: Benjamin Moore Woodluxe, Benjamin Moore Command, Sikkens Proluxe.
TIMEFRAME: Two week project with weather-dependent staging and application
02
UNIVERSITY HIGHLANDS, SQUAMISH
Full exterior and interior painting of a custom new build in Squamish’s University Highlands. This high-end home features classic cedar posts and beams finished in a warm semi-transparent stain, paired with vertical cedar siding treated in a lighter tone. White-painted cedar shakes add contrast, while black architectural panels — made from a composite material — contribute a clean, modern edge to the design.
PAINT USED: Cloverdale SharkSkin Semi-Transparent Stain, WeatherOne 100% Acrylic, and industrial enamel for composite panels
TIMEFRAME: Multi-month project with staged exterior work and interior overlap

03
BLUEBERRY, WHISTLER
Targeted maintenance and refinishing on a chalet-style home in Whistler’s Blueberry neighbourhood. Cedar soffits, beams, and balcony ceilings were cleaned, lightly sanded, and recoated using Sikkens for maximum grain clarity and UV protection. Black trim and rail details were touched up using Sherwin-Williams exterior acrylic for a crisp, durable finish. Boom lift access was provided by Sabre Rentals to safely reach upper levels.
PAINT USED: Sikkens Cetol Log & Siding, Sherwin-Williams Duration Exterior
TIMEFRAME: 4-day project with boom lift staging and selective prep
04
KADENWOOD, WHISTLER
Full exterior refresh of a luxury home in Whistler’s Kadenwood neighbourhood, completed during the fall season. Extensive prep was required on the sun-exposed south-facing side, where aging stain and weather wear demanded sanding, washing, and careful reapplication. The siding was finished in Benjamin Moore Woodluxe using Sage Mountain, while fascia and trim were coated in a custom-blended shade known as “Kadenwood Gold,” also in solid Woodluxe stain. Full perimeter scaffolding was required for nearly one month due to the home’s scale and slope.
PAINT USED: Benjamin Moore Woodluxe – Sage Mountain & custom Kadenwood Gold (solid)
TIMEFRAME: One-month project with scaffolding and phased weather-based application

SEE THE TRANSFORMATION
These transformations don’t happen by accident. Whether we’re restoring weathered cedar, tackling challenging prep on a full home exterior, or refinishing an entire interior, we focus on the long-term durability of every finish. From Whistler to Squamish, we approach each project with a tailored plan, careful prep, and the best materials for the surface and season.
BEFORE AND AFTER: WHISTLER EXTERIOR - SPEARHEAD PAINTING

This classic home in Whistler Cay is a textbook example of what happens when painting is delayed too long. Years of sun, snow, and moisture exposure led to widespread cracking, fading, and surface breakdown. Before we could even open a can of paint, our crew of five spent nearly four full days on preparation alone — scraping, sanding, priming, and addressing water-damaged areas. The more time that passes, the more time and cost it takes to bring a surface back to life. Timely maintenance can make all the difference.
Paint System: Sherwin Williams Duration in Charcoal Slate, Hamilton Blue, Onyx, and Black jack. Zinsser Peel Stop Primer.
Prep and Application: pressure wash, scrape and sand, masking, sprayed with Graco 390
Timeframe: Three-week project with extensive prep and technical work at heights greater than 25 feet
BEFORE AND AFTER: INTERIOR TRANSFORMATION - SPEARHEAD PAINTING

This full interior transformation brought a dated cedar-heavy home into a clean, modern space using Oxford White in a variety of sheens. Every surface — ceilings, beams, doors, trim, and walls — was refreshed after extensive prep, including sanding back yellowed cedar and smoothing out problem areas. Ceilings were sprayed for a flawless finish, and scaffolding was brought in to tackle the vaulted living room safely and efficiently. The result is a bright, cohesive interior that feels fresh without losing its character.
Paint System: Benjamin Moore Scuff-X, Benjamin Moore Regal Select, and Benjamin Moore ceiling paint in Oxford White and Wrought Iron (multiple sheens), Zinsser Cover Stain
Prep and Application: Ram board, washing and sanding, scaffolding, masking and ventilation
Timeframe: one month coordinating with other trades workers
BEFORE AND AFTER: WOOD RESTORATION - SPEARHEAD PAINTING

Restoring cedar features like decks, stairs, and log railings isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s essential maintenance in Whistler’s freeze-thaw climate. These structures were heavily weathered, requiring sanding, cleaning, and deep absorption finishes to bring back their warmth and grain. We typically use Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck or Benjamin Moore Arborcoat, depending on the wood’s condition and exposure. Regular upkeep every few years with the right prep and product can extend the life of your outdoor wood by decades.
Paint System: Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck Transparent Stain, Benjamin Moore Woodluxe Oil Based, Sikkens Proluxe system
Prep and Application: Sanding, stripping, and brightening before hand-brushed stain application
Timeframe: Variable - 2-5 days not factoring in dry time.
